party til the cows come home...?

rachel was so sweet to have me photograph her son's 2nd birthday party!  it was a great learning experience for me, and rachel never had to worry about picking up a camera - so a win-win for all!  i was ecstatic when she told me the party was out on the "Lacky Farm" and that the theme was going to be cows!!  how adorable and fun!!  what i didn't consider was what a challenge it could be - the lighting changed so much from inside the barn, behind the barn, out in the yard, time change, etc!  but this is what will make me a better photographer, right?  facing these challenges head on and working through them.  so this wasn't my typical portrait photo session, but it was a whole lot of fun.  i tried to capture a snapshot of the entire party...so later when the family looks back through the images they'll feel like they're sort of reliving it again.  :)  ...or at least it'll be fun to remember all the little details!
